Murphy, 32, who was pronounced dead at the hospital Sunday morning after she was stricken at her Los Angeles home, walked the red carpet Dec. 3 for the opening of Tt Collection's Pop-Up shop in LA.
Wearing a short black dress by her designer friend Tiffany Saidnia, Murphy was described as smiling and upbeat, telling Access Hollywood, "I've been very blessed to have a really great loving husband. ... I spend more time with my family than anyone else in the world."
Wanted a Child in 2010She also said she was looking forward to 2010. "As far as having a New Year's resolution, I'd love to have a child next year," she said. "But that's kind of a large one!"
The day before the Tt Collection event, Murphy appeared at the Los Angeles premiere for the indie film Across the Hall, which she shot in 2008 and just received a limited release.
"This is all very shocking. I'm trying to wrap my head around it," said the film's director, Alex Merkin, who described Murphy on the set last year as "incredibly hard-working and dedicated and obviously very talented."
"Even when she had a lot of things going on in her life, she was always there," he told PEOPLE on Sunday.
Left Movie SetMurphy attended the Across the Hall premiere two days after she left a movie set in Puerto Rico. Despite stories in the press that she was let go for disrupting the shoot, her rep had said, "She was not nor has she ever been fired from any job big or small ... [Due] to creative differences Ms. Murphy and the production mutually parted ways."
According to Merkin, at the premiere "I just remember she was going through a lot at the time surrounding her husband?" – British writer-director Simon Monjack – "being in the hospital."
"I know that he had been released from the hospital, and whatever she was dealing with at home, she had already signed up to come and support the film," said Merkin.
