His personal life is in turmoil, but the show must go on for Charlie Sheen. The Two and a Half Men star, who was arrested on Christmas Day on domestic violence allegations, returned to the set of his hit show Monday, his rep confirms.

Sheen was present for a table read of the CBS sitcom in Los Angeles. The actor returned to California shortly after being freed from jail in Aspen, Colo., where his wife Brooke Mueller, 32, and their twin sons remain.

"In six and a half years of Two and a Half Men, he has been completely professional and never misses work," a set source tells PEOPLE of Sheen. "He is always on time and is completely committed."

Another thing Sheen, 44, is committed to is his family, another source told PEOPLE last week. "[Charlie] has two little boys and he does not want to get divorced again," a friend of the couple's said.

Mueller's lawyer has said that she also hopes to salvage her marriage. "Brooke and Charlie are very passionate about each other, they love each other and want to try and save their marriage," attorney Yale Galanter said last week.
