• How does Reese Witherspoon fuel up for a shopping expedition? With lunch at the new — and highly anticipated — Thomas Keller bistro in Beverly Hills, Bouchon, where the actress appeared to be having a business meeting. (Across the room, Anne Hathaway was dining, too, though the ladies never crossed paths.) After eating, Witherspoon headed to Brentwood boutique Madison, where she picked out a See by Chloe dress and Otis & Mclain tops, among other items.

Jennifer Aniston returned once again to one of her favorite hangs, L.A.'s Sunset Tower Hotel, but this time the actress was there for a party hosted by pal Tobey Maguire. Aniston arrived early for the bash and joined two girlfriends in the restaurant for some wine, which they enjoyed along with a crudité platter at their window table. At one point, David Spade came over to say hello, but otherwise the ladies kept to themselves. After Aniston left the dining room, Molly Sims snagged her table for dinner with two friends. Later in the night, Courteney Cox and a glowing Isla Fisher dropped by Maguire's dimly-lit cocktail party.

• What does Shia LaBeouf wear for a workout? Jeans! The Wall Street actor met up with his trainer in L.A. in denim, Nike sneakers and a T-shirt to work up a sweat at Ultra Body Fitness.

American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi narrowly avoided running into the Top 24 contestants while browsing a gift lounge at the Sofitel in Los Angeles. Upstairs, she picked up a pair of New Balance sneakers, then took the elevator downstairs with her husband, where she saw piles of luggage, guitar cases and excited kids. Realizing what was happening, DioGuardi laced up her sneakers and ran into the bar to avoid a potentially problematic encounter.
