Oscar nominations for awards season frontrunners George Clooney and Meryl Streep are all but a done deal, but 2009's biggest movies rose to success on the strength of their supporting players. Whether playing second fiddle to Hollywood heavyweights or stunning CGI visuals, tell us which of these stars you'd like to see nominated when the nods are announced Feb. 2:

John Krasinski in It's Complicated
The Office funnyman stole the show as the fiancé of Streep's eldest daughter, forced to keep his future in-laws's sexy secret after catching former spouses Streep and Alec Baldwin in a naughty hotel rendezvous and walking in on the pair smoking pot in his bathroom.

Zoe Saldana in Avatar
Audiences may never see Saldana's face, but her stellar turn as the heart and soul of Na'vi princess Neytiri helped define Avatar's other-worldly feel and at the same time, grounded the film's love story firmly in the human realm.

Zach Galifianakis in The Hangover
Bradley Cooper may be the comedy's breakout star, but it's stand-up comedian Galifinakis's gut-busting turn as the groom's future brother-in-law Alan that gave the movie its most memorable moments, including the discovery that Julius Caesar did NOT live in Las Vegas and tigers "love pepper. They hate cinnamon."

Jane Lynch in Julie & Julia
The Glee star is having a career-defining year, earning a Golden Globe nomination for her role as Sue Sylvester and sharing the spotlight with Streep as Julia Child's boisterous sister. Playing Dorothy Williams, Lynch proved a towering presence – she's 6-feet tall! – in her few short scenes, keeping audiences glued to her performance.
