Timberlake, 28, has been named the 2010 Man of the Year by Harvard's Hasty Pudding Theatricals, the nation's oldest undergraduate drama club. The singer, songwriter, actor and producer was chosen for being "one of pop culture's most influential entertainers," the troupe said in a statement.
Timberlake will receive the award at a roast on Feb. 5. He joins Anne Hathaway, who was recently named the group's Woman of the Year.
Timberlake, who performed on last Friday's Hope for Haiti Now telethon, will appear in the forthcoming movie The Social Network, which is set at Harvard and tells the story of the founding of Facebook.
Hasty Pudding Theatricals has been giving out acting awards since 1951. Last year's honorees were Renée Zellweger and James Franco.
