Orlando Bloom screened his indie comic-drama Sympathy for Delicious at the Sundance Film Festival – and then faced a truly delicious situation: a multi-course private dinner prepared for his castmates by celebrity chefs Katsuya Uechi (of the Hollywood-favorite Katsuya restaurants in L.A.) and Steven Fretz (of XIV by Michael Mina).

The actor and his costars Juliette Lewis and Mark Ruffalo, who also directed the flick, headed to the Bing Supper Club at House of Hype for the East-meets-West-themed extravaganza in chilly Park City, Utah.

"I chose [to make] the traditional Japanese winter dish Oden to keep them warm," Chef Katsuya tells PEOPLE about what inspired his seafood-heavy menu, which also included sushi. (Oden is a Japanese stew, traditionally consisting of ingredients like boiled eggs, fish cakes and a dashi broth.)

Chef Fretz, meanwhile, offered a Western counterpoint, preparing chilled king crab with pomegranate, pecan and black truffle foam for the first course, alongside Katsuya's sashimi of king crab and toro, or fatty tuna. His strategy for the large group: picking ingredients that "you know a majority of them will enjoy," like tasty Kobe shortribs, he tells PEOPLE. The meal wrapped up with a decadent note, topping off with Fretz's milk chocolate panna cotta and Katsuya's seasonal verrine.

And the treats didn't end there for the cast: The night before stuffing themselves at dinner they were spotted partying ... like it was 1987! Bloom and pals caught a performance by Constantine Maroulis and the cast of his Broadway hit Rock of Ages, based on '80s hairband hits, at the Village at the Yard. The actor sang along and danced to Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again" while other Sundance stars like Michelle Williams joined in on the fun.

Side Dish: Spotted

• Another day at Sundance, another meal! The Killer Inside Me star Jessica Alba stopped into the MySpace Café at the Lift for some sushi and conversation with costar Bill Pullman. Meanwhile, Tom Arnold waited tables at the restaurant, serving chili and burgers to Ian Ziering as part of the celebrity waiter program, which benefited Family Health International and Haitian relief efforts.

Ryan Reynolds enjoyed a pre-premiere dinner with his Buried cast and crew at the T-Mobile myTouch Diner, where the actor was incredibly gracious to all the guests, mingling with everyone before calling it an early night.

• On Tuesday, Magaschoni hosted an exclusive dinner party for the cast of The Romantics at the Stein Eriksen Lodge in Park City, where Katie Holmes, Fergie, Josh Duhamel and more sipped champagne and wrapped themselves in cashmere while enjoying dinner and drinks by the fire.
