Ethan Zohn Talks about His Stem Cell Transplant

Friday January 29, 2010 04:45 PM EST

Once a Survivor, always a survivor.

Back home from the hospital after spending three weeks in isolation as a result of his stem-cell transplant, Ethan Zohn talked about his ordeal with The Doctors host Dr. Travis Stork.

Calling it "the ultimate test of strength and will known to human," Zohn said he was "completely blasted with chemotherapy all over again." As a result, "I had almost no immune system, meaning if I just looked at a person with a cold, I would get sick."

Zohn, 36, the winner of Survivor: Africa, is battling a rare form of Hodgkin's disease. While sharing his cancer battle on PEOPLE.com, Zohn said that after intense chemotherapy doctors have found no active cancer cells in his body, but the stem-cell transplant required him to be isolated.

Zohn's full interview with Stork will air Feb. 1.
