Tiger Woods to Return to Therapy Saturday

Explaining that he is in a 45-day program that began around the holidays, Tiger Woods said as part of his public address Friday that his golfing days are on hold and he is returning to therapy on Saturday, to help him deal with what he termed his failures and for being "selfish and foolish."

Therapy, he said, helps him keep his life in balance and to see that his family is what's most important to him.

"It's hard for me to admit I need help," a somber Woods, 34, standing before a hand-selected group of friends and his mother Kultilda, said at the PGA's TPC Sawgrass headquarters in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., "but I do."

Stressing, as he did repeatedly throughout his 14-minute speech, that his therapy as well as his marital issues are private matters, Woods admited, "My failures have made me look at myself in a way I never wanted to before."



The golfer was reportedly being treated at the Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction clinic in Hattiesburg, Miss. for sexual addiction.

"I was unfaithful," Woods said Friday. "I had affairs. I cheated." Accepting full responsibility for his transgressions, he also said that he learned early on that it is not what one accomplishes in life that counts, but what one overcomes.
