Having insisted on Sunday night that fans should not be concerned about his behavior – "This is no breakdown! It's a breakthrough! And if you'll just loosen these straps, I'll show you the difference!" he Tweeted – Jim Carrey may now have hoisted a new red flag.

In what is being labeled as a response to the press coverage of his recent Tweets, Carrey released a statement, which he also posted: "To anyone whose grievances have chosen me as their cause, I would say first, that I recognize that tendency in myself, but if you knew me well, you'd see that your resentment has been misplaced. I wish every human being nothing but love and immeasurable happiness. Now, I'm going to re-enter the Twitter stream and see if there is anyone left to offend!"

Tuesday night brought another explosion of Carrey Tweets, all of which follow his recent breakup with Jenny McCarthy.

Although many of them don't seem to make much sense, his sign-off before calling it a night is, well, interesting, to say the least.

Tweets Carrey: "Sometimes I make an ASS of myself, yet I'm anything BUTT! Thankyou g'night! (Hold for applause...wait for it... aaaaand fade to black)."
