Randy, 59, and Evi, 46, who are free on $100,000 bail each, are accused of skipping out on a more than $10,000 hotel bill at an exclusive Santa Barbara resort. They are facing three felonies: defrauding an innkeeper, burglary and conspiracy.
Although they have since paid their outstanding bill, prosecutors say a crime was still committed.
Wearing dark suits, the Quaids discussed paperwork with their attorney, Robert Sanger, before he asked Santa Barbara Superior Court Judge Frank Ochoa if they could continue the discussion in his chambers. Ochoa acquiesced. It's not clear what was being discussed.
