The golfer, who backed out of The Players Championship Sunday after suffering a neck injury, completed a commercial shoot for EA Sports' Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 Tuesday in Orlando, a rep for the video game company confirms to PEOPLE.
Arriving to the set on time, Woods shot the ad with fellow PGA Tour athletes Ian Pulter, Rickie Fowler and Edoardo Molinari and "was upbeat throughout the day-long shoot," says an onlooker. "You could tell he was really enjoying the creative focus of the commercial."
The EA Sports ad comes just one month after a Nike commercial, featuring Woods getting scolded by his late father, Earl, stirred up controversy.
"As he was wrapping up, the extras started chanting his name and he gave a thumbs up and waved goodbye," says the onlooker.
The shoot may have gone smoothly but Woods is still struggling to get his life back under control, says one source.
"This is the toughest time of his life," a friend tells PEOPLE. "There is absolutely no chance of his marriage surviving and he knows that he's destroyed his reputation."
"He's so used to being in charge of his life," adds the friend, "that he doesn't know how to deal with the fact that he's not in charge of it anymore. He feels helpless."
