Heidi Montag Strikes a Sad Pose with New BFF

Life appears to be tough for Heidi Montag, who is going through a separation from hubby Spencer Pratt: The star appeared decidedly melancholy on Tuesday while at a park in Malibu.

But at least Montag has someone to turn to in her time of need: Jen Bunney, who will be Montag's roommate over the summer and costar in a new reality show. Bunney, who appeared on The Hills as Lauren Conrad's bestie, seems like a sympathetic friend feeling Montag's pain.

Hopefully these somber photo ops will soon be smiley ones. Montag is working on a movie script and taking some time away from her hubby over the summer while they work on their relationship.



"I've always loved Spencer," she tells PEOPLE, "but right now we're working on things."
