If Beyoncé ever decides to stop performing, there's another career husband Jay-Z says he knows she'll be able to conquer.

"Sometimes on creative stuff, one of us will ask, 'Do you think this is cool?' " the rapper, 40, tells Rolling Stone, which for its latest issue features the publication's first ever peel-off cover. "She's a magnificent A&R, if she ever decides to do that, for things like pitch. So I defer to her on those sort of questions."

But while he might occasionally depend on his wife of two years for input in his work, Jay-Z says the two tend to "pretty much stay out of each other's business."

Case in point: The hip-hop star, 40, raves about Beyoncé's appearance in Lady Gaga's "Telephone" music video but says that was a decision she made on her own – and he never advised her on whether or not she should participate in it.

A Photo Had to Go

Outside the office and recording studio and back at home, Knowles, 28, is equally vocal about what she does – and especially doesn't – like, says the hip-hop star, who had to return a piece of artwork that she didn't approve.

B., as Jay-Z calls her, vetoed a black-and-white photograph by artist Laurie Simmons "depicting a noirishly lit pistol with a pair of women's legs emerging from the handle," reports the magazine. Beyoncé then had it replaced with a similar piece showing a perfume bottle instead of a gun to hang in their 8,000-sq.ft. New York City penthouse apartment.

"It was more of a masculine style, I guess," says Jay-Z.

They Love Music

One thing the couple does agree on: Their love of music, specifically watching other artists perform and getting to experience the same thrill their fans enjoy when they're on stage.

"One of my great moments at Coachella was driving backstage," says Lyor Cohen, vice chairman of Warner Music Group and a long-time Jay-Z pal. "He was driving the other way, and Beyoncé rolled her window down. They're beaming from ear to ear."

"I said, 'Where you guys going?'" recalls Cohen. "Jay said, 'Lyor, either jump in, or I'll check you out later – we can't miss the show we're running to now!' They were so excited by the other artists."
