Harrison Ford's Son Thrilled His 'Crazy' Dad Got Married

Harrison Ford's chef son, Ben Ford, is delighted that his dad finally tied the knot with longtime girlfriend Calista Flockhart – and amused by the way they did it.

"Those crazy kids went off and eloped!" Ford told PEOPLE on Wednesday while manning the charcoal grill for a clam bake at Ford's Filling Station, the restaurant he runs in Culver City, Calif. "I think it is wonderful that they finally made it legit. It is really terrific news."

He added: "I'm so happy for them."

After dating for eight years, Ford and Flockhart were married Tuesday at the governor's mansion in Santa Fe, N.M., in a surprise ceremony that included the couple's son Liam, 9, along with Gov. Bill Richardson and New Mexico's chief justice.

Ben Ford is one of two grown children from Harrison's first marriage, to Mary Marquardt.
