The former Saved by the Bell and Raising the Bar star, 36, filed for divorce June 18 in L.A. Superior Court, two weeks after the couple announced their separation.
Gosselaar and Russell, 38, got married in 1996 and have two children, Michael Charles, 6, and Ava Lorenn, 4.
Citing irreconcilable differences, the actor is seeking joint custody of the children.
