Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Irving Shimer said Thursday that the family is protected by the First Amendment and that London could later sue his relatives if their statements are untrue.
The London family has questioned Jeremy's bizarre story of being kidnapped and forced to take drugs in Palm Springs. His twin brother Jason issued a public plea for Jeremy, who has a history of drug addiction, to seek psychological help.
In seeking his restraining orders, the former Party of Five star contends Jason, their mother and Jason's girlfriend made false, misleading and harmful statements about his reputation and career.
