Vacation is over. Barbara Walters will be returning to The View next week for the first time since undergoing heart valve surgery in May.

But she won't be around the table with the ladies, the news veteran, 80, will be Skyping live for the July 12 episode. She is expected to officially return in September.

On May 10, Walters announced that she'd be undergoing the surgery on a faulty valve. "You know how healthy I have been – never missed a day's work," she said, adding, "I have known of this condition for a while now and my doctors and I have decided that this is the best time to do the surgery, since the summer is coming up, I can take a nice vacation."
