"I love nepotism!" said Kathie Lee Gifford on Today recently. The fourth-hour cohost was crowing about the fact that her boy Cody, now 20 and a film student, has a summer gig on the show as a movie critic. Cody should cut the jargon-he faulted Grown Ups for lacking a "narrative enigma, if you will"-but the spectacle of ma joined in showbiz with her now-grown son is some sort of milestone in their saga. When Cody interviewed Sarah Silverman, she screamed, "I watched you grow up!" Pause. "Or heard about it."
Cody isn't the only famous offspring on the morning shows. Presidential daughter Jenna Bush Hager contributes Today segments, including an interview with Twilight star Robert Pattinson. She's very cute, if unpolished, and speaks with the same cadence as George W. And Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown's daughter, ex-American Idol contestant Ayla Brown, appears on CBS's Early Show. She's the smoothest of the bunch-much like her father.
