Billy Corgan, the singer of the 1990s Chicago alt-rock band Smashing Pumpkins, collapsed while performing a song with his band during a show in Tampa, Fla., on Thursday.

"That wasn't a stage move or clumsiness," the musician, 43, later wrote on Twitter. "That was me blacking out and wiping out."

Corgan, recently rumored to be romantically linked to Jessica Simpson, will continue touring despite the mishap – though fans in his next stop, Knoxville, Tenn., might hear more slow ballads than they expected.

"I have no memory of falling against the drum riser and my guitar cabinet, but I can tell you I've got quite a good bruise + am moving slow," he Tweeted.
