Just weeks before the 62nd annual Emmy Awards, TV stars like Kyra Sedgwick, Julia Ormond and Chris Colfer had something special to talk about in addition to their nominations.

At a nominee gathering in Beverly Hills on Wednesday, the Emmy hopefuls sounded off about the overturn of Proposition 8, which ruled California's ban on same-sex marriages unconstitutional.

"It's amazing," Sedgwick, nominated five consecutive years for her work on The Closer, tells the Associated Press. "So many people I know and love will take advantage of this."

And for Chris Colfer, a first-time nominee for his work on Glee, which received a total of 19 nods, the decision is the end of an era.

"I think it's just sad that it's even an issue and that it even happened," he says. "So I'm glad this ugly part of history is in the past."

Watch Sedgwick, Colfer and more Emmy nominees discuss Wednesday's ruling.
