Fantasia Barrino was hospitalized Monday in Charlotte, N.C., and treated for a "medication overdose," local TV station WCNC reports.

The American Idol winner, 26, was reportedly rushed to Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville around 8:55 p.m., the same day she denied allegations she had broken up a marriage.

A rep for the singer reportedly confirmed to TMZ.com that she was rushed to the hospital.

Barrino's condition is not life-threatening, sources tell WCNC.com.

Calls to Barrino's manager were not immediately returned.

On Monday, Barrino spoke out against a North Carolina's woman's claims that her alleged affair with Antwaun Cook caused his marriage to end. A lawyer for the singer said the woman, Paula Cook, used Barrino's name to "sensationalize that litigation and to insure that her tale would be picked up by tabloids."

The singer's manager, Brian Dickens, added, "Fantasia will weather this storm with the dignity and grace that she has exemplified throughout a life in which she has repeatedly overcome obstacles and challenges."
