The MSNBC host is ditching her 275 sq.-ft. Manhattan apartment for a more plush pad – specifically R.E.M. lead singer Michael Stipe's apartment in the West Village, reports the real estate blog Curbed.com.
Maddow, 37, who also shares home with girlfriend Susan Mikula in Massachusetts, where they spend their weekends, reportedly purchased the downtown digs for $1.25 million.
As for her old place, the political journalist previously said she wasn't able to do much in the space – and she didn't often cook, given how small it was. "If I open the fridge, I can't open the oven," she once told Martha Stewart.
Now, she has no excuse: Maddow's new apartment includes a kitchen, dining room, living area and a possible second bedroom, along with views of the Hudson River.
Someone possibly even more excited over the big move than Maddow and Mikula? Their English Lab, which Mikula has said, "takes up nearly a third of [the old apartment]."
