First of all, thanks to all of you for tuning in to Bachelor Pad. Isn’t it fun?! Things got off to a great start last week, and we sure did pick up the pace for our second show.
I have to admit, I felt badly for the gang when I walked in first thing in the morning and asked them to head outside for their challenge. I knew what they were in for, and I can tell you that what they were about to see is the last thing anyone would want to see at 8 o'clock in the morning. When they saw the cherry pies lined up on the table, their reactions were priceless. Some looked confident, but they had no idea what was to come.
Despite all the groaning, I was totally impressed by the women. They just attacked the pies from the second Chris said "Go!" The girls set the bar, and I’ll be honest, they dug in with a lot more oomph than I had expected. I talked with Chris about it and I said, 'I guarantee you none of these girls are going to finish an entire pie.' But then I looked over and they were going at it full steam ahead! I couldn't believe it.
I was trying to see how everyone was holding up, so I'd ask them, "Are you okay?" And they would give me the response of, "No, I need a bucket." We had a line of buckets behind the girls and about halfway through the competition, they’d take a bite, chew it up, swallow, and then turn and throw it up in the bucket. The biggest surprise for me was Tenley. She upchucked on the table and then still continued eating the pie! It was one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen.
