SNEAK PEEK: See Countess LuAnn in the Studio … Un-AutoTuned

05/13/2010 at 12:00 AM EDT

You've heard the finished product -- but how did Real Housewives of New York City's Countess LuAnn de Lesseps create her glossy, disco-influenced first single?

On Thursday's episode, fans will see de Lesseps head into a studio and lay down vocals on the track -- and PEOPLE has your first look at the recording session. In the clip, the reality star belts out the tune in a recording booth and the event is strangely drama-free. (Remember Real Housewives of Atlanta's Kim Zolciak's tears and trepidations in the studio session for her dance anthem "Tardy for the Party"?)

"I’m putting myself out there,” de Lesseps recently told PEOPLE about recording the song, “knowing that I won’t always be perfect. And It’s scary, but it’s worth it. Let talk about it."

PEOPLE.com readers were less than impressed with the tune, leaving over 400 comments with reviews of the song. But what will her fellow Housewives -- especially her good pal, the super-opinionated Jill Zarin -- say? Tune in tonight (10 p.m. EST) to Bravo to find out -- then stick around as the Countess performs the song live on Andy Cohen's late-night show Watch What Happens Live (11 p.m. EST). -- Brian Orloff
