No one seems quite as anxious about the new season of Dancing With the Stars as Shannen Doherty. The former 90120 and Charmed star is "nervous and freaking out" ahead of Monday's premiere of season 10, she told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show this morning. And her physical symptoms are brutal: "I break out in hives," she said. "My stomach is a mess. I'm like, 'I can't, I can't, I can't.'"
The actress, 38, is paired with two-time champion Mark Ballas, which should ease the burden somewhat. But she knows the field is competitive this season. "Nicole Scherzinger is amazing. Not only is she really, really nice, but she's a dancer," she said. "Evan Lysacek, being an ice skater, I think he's going to do fantastic. And I think Pam Anderson is just going to be sexy, sexy, sexy, and so much fun to watch."
Doherty mentioned again that her father, who suffered a stroke on Christmas, is an inspiration to her. "It's kind of a negotiating tool," she said. "He's going to go in there and work really hard on regaining his speech and his mobility. And I'm going to get over my fear of a live audience."
Now, if she could just figure out why she's gaining weight, when most contestants say they lose it. "Everyone says it's muscle. I don't see it," she says with a laugh. "I eat so much now, it's insane."
