Biggest Loser's Cheryl: 'I Never Want To Look Like That Again'

NBC

Cheryl George may have come to the Ranch with her son Daris, but she left it with a bond to fellow mom and Black Team member Sherry Johnston. George, 50, a Sears Hometown store-owner from Ardmore, Okla., started her journey on the Biggest Loser at 227 lbs. and is now down to 162 lbs.! George spoke with reporters Wednesday about ditching her old clothes, making friends and fixing a fabulous breakfast. --Cynthia Wang

You were crying when you were clearing out the closet. How emotional was that experience for you? That was a really big thing for me to get rid of all those clothes. First of all, you can't believe that you ever wore those sizes. Second of all, it looks like a lot of money being thrown away and I'm going, 'What am I going to wear now?' The thought of ever going back to that just came to me like, 'I never want to look like that again.'

Have you gotten a new wardrobe? As far as shopping, I am going to discount stores like TJ Maxx and Walls, which is a local place here in town, and I just like to buy discount clothes because I'm not even going to stay in the size that I am. I've changed sizes three times, so I am not buying a whole lot of clothes right now. When I have finally come to my maintenance weight, I will do a lot of shopping because clothes are important to me. I've never been to a Macy's, so I would like to go to Macy's, which I don't even know which kind of store that is, but you are always hearing about their clothes. I love Dillard's and even one of the stores that's here locally in town that I'd like to go in to is Stephanie's Beautique, because the first time I ever went into that store was when I was overweight and I first moved to Ardmore and they told me that they didn't have anything that fit me and that kind of blew my mind that I'm in town for one day, never been in there and that's the first thing they tell me. So I would like to go in there and purchase an outfit or two!

Daris, your son, is still on the Ranch. How will he do?I think Daris is doing fantastic because Daris has really matured. Daris does his own thing and I do my own because we are just not on the same exercise level but we are now working out to our own potential. We discussed it and Daris said he'd be fine without me and I would be fine at home, and I'm still there in heart and mind. I know he'll do great.

Your late-night chats with Sherry looked so special.Sherry became a very close friend of mine. We pushed each other and the more we did, the more we had in common, and I really had fun with Sherry. That's a lifelong friend of mine and I will be going to see her in Tennessee, she will be coming to see me in Oklahoma, so that's one thing I have definitely gained something from the program and that's Sherry.

What is your typical day like now?I work out for the first part of the day, so I usually work out before I go to work and you just have to make sure that all your foods and snacks are packed for the day, and if you do that every day of your life whether you're going to work or even when you stay at home, you pack and you know exactly what you're eating for the day. Then you don't even have to think about it!

What's a good food tip you can share?Probably my most used staple is going to be Greek yogurt, because there are so many things you can substitute that for. I'm talking mayonnaise, sour cream, and it's just my favorite breakfast food. I eat that with blueberries and Kashi Golean Crunch cereal, and it's my favorite meal.
