Real Housewives Drama: Lynne Gets Evicted, Goes Shopping
Alexa's reaction: "What the f---?"
Raquel's: "Is this for real? Or am I dreaming because I'm so f---ing hungover?"
While Alexa hid under the blankets, Raquel -- holding up a blurred-out hand gesture to the camera crew -- called her mother to tell her what happened. Lynne expressed disbelief and decided to confront her husband Frank in a park down the street from their rental home. "I feel guilty as hell that I didn't receive the eviction notice," she said. "I didn't want to discuss this in front of the girls."
Frank admitted, "I screwed up." He explained to a livid Lynne that the family had been living beyond their means and that he had been unable to pay a $10,000 security deposit on their new home.
"Stab me in the heart right now," Lynne said. "I can't take this." Her biggest issue was that she felt he had lied to her, thinking she wasn't smart enough to handle the truth about their situation. But he told her she was in denial about their finances and, "You live in this little microcosm and it's not even real."
"I don't think I can forgive this," Lynne said as the conversation ended. "This is really hard for me. This is the hardest time of my life."
Once Lynne's daughters were settled with their grandmother, Lynne sought solace from Tamra, who advised her friend to forgive Frank and hold onto her marriage. "I was divorced before," Tamra said, "You don't want to do that." She also convinced her to go ahead with -- already paid for? -- plans to go to San Francisco with the Housewives for a shopping getaway.
Meanwhile, Vicki was dealing with another kind of drama. Her daughter Briana had just visited a doctor. "My whole neck is covered in nodules," Briana told her mom after a thyroid ultrasound. Her mom revealed that she had gone through the same thing when she was young and fretted about working around her work schedule to accompany her daughter to her biopsy.
"I might have cancer and all my mom cares about is work," Briana said.
The ladies landed in San Francisco and headed to Fleur de Lys, the restaurant of Top Chef Masters contestant Hubert Keller. Alexis, who had never traveled without her husband, talked on the phone throughout the dinner and spit out a taste of Gretchen's foie gras, gagging because of the texture. That made Vicki heave. "When Alexis almost lost it, I almost lost it," she said, because, you know, vomit can make you vomit. "Classless trash," Vicki continued. "I don't know why Alexis is here."
Despite Lynne admitting that the trip was a diversion from what was going on back home, the conversation soon turned to her financial troubles and she admitted of her family, "We have champagne taste on a beer budget."
Funny, then, that after dinner the women went to a champagne bar to meet Briana. There, Gretchen broke down about the possibility that Vicki's daughter could have cancer. "It was nice to see Gretchen being not so Gretchen," Vicki said. "It was nice to see the compassion."
The next day the ladies went shopping and Lynne found a black leather jacket by Vera Pelle with a sparkly buckle. The price? $1,185.
"I just got paid today ... The check is in the mail," she said as she paid for it. "Shopping is just a sport. It's my sport. I'm a sport shopper." --Aaron Parsley
