Real Housewives of O.C.: Kids These Days

This week on The Real Housewives, the ladies were (for the most part) focused on being good mothers to their children. And these kids of Orange County have their fair share of problems -- from missed curfews to broken hearts to facing jail time. Here's how the women worked it out:

Vicki: After meeting an insurance colleague's son in St. Thomas, Vicki decided he might be able to cure her heartbroken daughter, Briana, 22. So, she flew Chris from Indianapolis to Orange County for a three-day blind date. At first, it looked like there could have been a love connection but things got awkward quickly when the potential couple ran out of things to talk about. A clueless Vicki thought all was well while Briana looked like she wanted to hide.

Tamra: With her son Ryan and her husband Simon feuding, Tamra tried to bring her family back together. But Simon insisted on getting an apology from Ryan before letting him back in the house or speaking to him. The offense? Driving Simon's car without a license and saying bad things about him on Facebook. Over a lunch with her son, Tamra found out that he was heading to jail for five days, again for driving without a license. "I have a lot of guilt and to see him succeed at something would make me so happy," Tamra said.

Lynne: Now that she was set up in her new home, Lynne decided it was time for a fresh start with her teen daughters Raquel, 19, and Alexa, 17, so she called a professional. She and her husband hired youthologist Vanessa Van Petten -- or as Lynne called her, the "teen whisperer" -- to chat it out. The big issues resolved: Raquel wanted to work on her art and Alexa needed to spend some quality mother-daughter time with Lynne. "The best thing to come out of the meeting was hearing her say we do have hope," Lynne said. "It's not too late."

Gretchen: Traveling to Northville Township, Mich., to visit her late fiancé Jeff's kids, Gretchen got some closure after seeing the place where Jeff's ashes would be laid to rest. She also got a chance to check in with his daughter Jill, 20, and son Jake, 18, who've both been "acting out" since their dad passed away. "They really are my only connection still to Jeff and it's really important to me to keep those relationships intact," she said.

Alexis: Apparently, the new Housewife was the only one whose kids are not in any kind of trouble or in need of a date. Of course, her children, James, 3, and twins Melania and Mackenna, 20 months, are still too young for those types of problems. Taking advantage of a carefree family life, Alexis and her husband Jim went out to dinner and he surprised her with a 7-carat diamond necklace, which she declared the "sickest necklace" she'd ever seen. "You really do spoil me," she said.
