"There are many women who come through with a version of my haircut," Kate says, referring to fans at stops on her book-signing tour. "And they're very happy when I notice."
Indeed, one fan, who says she's been "watching Kate" for a long time, admits to growing her hair out, getting highlights and styling it to look like Kate.
"Now that I've seen it in person," the fan says, "I have to get it more blond and I have to grow it out a little more. She's beautiful. Her hair is famous, though."
Kate, who's been the topic of buzz about everything from her parenting techniques to her divorce from Jon Gosselin, understands that her hairstyle is also something talk about.
"I know my haircut takes a lot of flak as far what call it and whatever," she says. "But it works for me and I have very thick hair and it's easy and that's what I need."
