On Thursday's Project Runway All-Stars Challenge, the competition came down to a nail-biting finale between Korto Momolu and Daniel Vosovic -- both runners-up in their respective seasons. But in the end, Vosovic earned first place for his athletic-inspired collection. And while Momolu didn't claim the prize money, she did earn the judges' praise -- especially for the embellished black dress she created in the final restaurant challenge.

Calling separately, the designers weighed in on the competition … - and shared their thoughts about facing off against each other. --Brian Orloff

On the Winner Daniel: "The exact moment they said my name was bittersweet only because Korto is a very good friend and I had gotten to know all the designers very well that past week. The real moment of impact for me was standing on the runway alone and hearing Diane von Furstenberg's critique that "the dress will start your career." She knows. She's been there. She's done that." Korto: "I put a lot of time and work into this away from my family and, yes, I wanted to win. I feel like I should have won but in my heart I knew they weren't going to give it to me. I made sure I had a collection the judges would have no negative comments for -- and there were none. There was nothing wrong my with collection."

On Each Other's Work Daniel: "Korto's work is so different than mine. I love what she does. I don't think we're dressing the same women. She does amazing things with textures. I think that Korto is amazing at styling. She's really good at looking at a whole picture and making sure it's complete." Korto: "I love Daniel but I knew from the beginning -- I pegged it was going to be between me and him because we have similar taste. I was happy for him."

On Daniel's Restaurant Look Daniel: "I just started an adult gymnastics class in the spring and just being around all these athletic again. It really just turned me on to this strong, confident, urban, edgy woman that I'm designing for. That look in particular, I thought of a baseball catcher. But all of a sudden I started doing it, and I put the outfit on the girl and I go, 'She looks like a suicide bomber. She's totally going to blow the runway up.' And then I'm like, 'I'm totally leaving it. It's whimsical.'" Korto: "The 'suicide bomber' dress? The judges didn't even mention it. It's almost like they pretended it didn't even come down the runway, and I found that really strange because we were given specific guidelines about that last dress and it was supposed to be so critical in our judging."

On Sleepy Chris March Daniel: "You don't understand, we thought there was a health issue. He slept for probably half the time. You know how much of a slap in the face it is to all of us who are scrambling to get our collections done? He slept for probably half the time -- and made top 4! It was insane! I guess he just knows how to execute an idea really quickly."

On Making Fashion Fit Korto: "I think who are smaller think I don't design for them. But my clothes, I think they look great on everybody. Anything's going to look good on someone who's thin, but that same dress can be put on somebody who's -- I'm a size 12. I can wear it and somebody who's a size 18 can wear it, and it looks just as fabulous on them. That's the twist I put in my clothes. That's important because I'm that woman that goes to the store and wants to look hot in high fashion and I can't find my size."
