Oh, Canada! North-of-the-border beauty Jillian Harris will debut as the star of the new season of The Bachelorette Monday (9 p.m. ET, on ABC), when 30 suitors start trying to sweep her off her feet.
And it won't be easy for 29-year-old Harris, who says all of the men, "are good looking and charming and smart and articulate."
In fact, she had a difficult time standing in a room with all of the bachelors on the first night. "I was just like, 'How am I ever going to do this?'" she says.
But Harris, whose love was unrequited by Seattle single dad Jason Mesnick on the most recent season of The Bachelor, tells PEOPLE she's hopeful she'll find Mr. Right.
"Falling in love with one person is the most incredible thing in the world when you are on cloud nine and your heart is just pitter-patter," Harris says. "Maybe it didn't work out between Jason and I, but the one thing that I did not think was possible when I signed up the first time was to fall in love. When I did, the feeling may not have been mutual but it was real."
So when producers asked Harris to give things another try, she admits, "there were some reservations. But there was no way I could say no. I had to take the opportunity."
The Vancouver-based restaurant designer is currently still in production with the show, but tells PEOPLE she's narrowed the field to "a handful of guys that adore and respect and care about me so much. I'm so excited that I'm starting to develop those feelings, and at the same time I worry about hurting their feelings and making the wrong decision. That's where you really have to have your head on straight."
Bachelorette host Chris Harrison can see why Harris's appeal is undeniable.
"Women will find her very approachable, very endearing, very relatable," Harrison says. "She's strong, independent, funny, cute and at the same time she shown us she's vulnerable." -- Monica Rizzo
