Secret Society Meetings: On day 13 at Jalapao, Taj and Stephen found the hidden immunity idol. Stephen then invoked the 'possession is nine-tenths of the law' rule in describing his glee at having Taj give him the idol to hide in his pocket. Over at Timbira, Sierra finally talked to Brendan about the secret alliance. "We rule. It's over," Sierra said. "We're going to take over the world."
Going For a Spin: In the reward challenge, teams raced to 'unspool' a tribemate off a platform only to then have their dizzy partner cross a balance beam. The winning team got a day at the Charmin Café, complete with coffee, pastries and working toilets. Making quick work of the beams was Jalapao, who sent Brendan to Exile Island. Instead of picking Taj, Brendan chose Stephen, which instantly raised the suspicions of Tyson, who said, "He has he made a lot of contact with the other tribe. He definitely seems to have some of their respect."
Coffee Talk: At the Charmin Café, Jalapao cried into their coffees while reading letters from home. Later, Sydney went on a spiel about her dating history with Spencer, who kept quiet the fact that he was gay. Over at Timbira, Coach told everyone to "feel the breeze" and predicted that a storm would pass them by. It didn't. Back on Exile, Brendan showed Stephen around the island.
I Can Handle the Tooth: During the immunity challenge, JT dominated by flinging his body at every ball in his immediate radius. As he snagged a third for Jalapao, he landed with a thud and broke his front tooth and then threw it to the ground. As others looked on stunned, Jeff Probst went into action, telling JT, "Let's find that tooth. You are going to want that tooth." Found!
Someone Must Go: But for all of JT's efforts, Jalapao lost to Timbira. Back at camp, Taj lost it in front of Joe, Stephen and JT, venting her anger and making JT and Joe think she was the next to go. Spencer wasn't helping himself either by beating himself up over his poor performance. In a wise display, Stephen saw the two options in front of him -- while he would be in good shape with Taj voted out and himself in sole possession of the hidden immunity idol, where would he be after the merge when he has lost his one link to the other tribe? Perhaps Stephen had some influence, then, in the final vote, as Jalapao united to vote Spencer out of the game. -- Cynthia Wang
