The CW, the network that modernized Beverly Hills, 90210 with a fresh 90210 this season, is working on creating a new version of that show’s original spin-off, Melrose Place. According to the Hollywood Reporter, a new version of the campy ‘90s soap that put Heather Locklear’s career in high gear is in its very early stages. The network is still in search of a writer for the series.
While the new 90210 has introduced some new faces to the television landscape, the exciting part was seeing the comeback of Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth. Could a new Melrose provide Locklear with yet another comeback? Would Andrew Shue return as Billy? And how great would it be to see Marcia Cross, who’s so cool and collected on Desperate Housewives now, return for cameos as crazy-psycho Dr. Kimberly Shaw Mancini! -- Mark Dagostino
