The Real Housewives of Atlanta: Kim Goes Country!
Bravo
While there were more parties, more outrageous spending and more allusions to that elusive Big Poppa on Tuesday's episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, our five favorite Southern belles failed to deliver in the drama department. When will there be another cat fight already?

The Next Faith Hill? Though Kim's been talking about if for weeks, all the housewives were surprised when the curvy blond announced she wanted to be a famous country music singer. "I've known her for a few years and I've only heard her hum," says BFF NeNe. "You know, they may do that now. They may give record deals to who hum. So maybe you can hum and get a Grammy."

But while she may not have won any awards, Kim (who also revealed she was only 29 years old) finally got her chance to sing through music producer buddy Dallas Austin, who's produced hits for Janet Jackson, Madonna and TLC. "I want to be known for my voice and not blond hair and big boobs, per se," she said as she unbuttoned her shirt for a photo shoot. But Kim made her first mistake when she played a couple of songs written by her daughters' garbling vocal coach Ed for Dallas, who openly laughed at the hokey tunes.

"I want to take a different approach to the work we're going to do here," he said between chuckles. But NeNe did like one of the songs: "Don't be tardy to the party," she sang, infusing Ed's ditty with a bit of much-needed rhythm.

Get Frosted "Single mom" DeShawn took a break from interviewing for assistants and set out to raise funds for her charity to benefit girls with self-esteem issues. DeShawn called the girls "diamonds in the rough," and thus set out to gather millions of dollars worth of diamonds for the party. With a goal of raising one million dollars in two short weeks, she called on all of her girlfriends to reach out to the "who's who of Atlanta," including filmmaker Tyler Perry. Also on the agenda -- a celeb date auction. And while DeShawn wanted Sheree to offer her services ("Start the bidding at $2," NeNe jabbed), the diva had too many stipulations: "No ugly guys," for starters, she said. Come on, Sheree. Do it for the kids!

Queens for a Day When they weren't helping DeShawn plan her party, Sheree and Lisa didn't have too much to do this week. The two ladies took advantage of the "new hot thing" in Atlanta by spending the afternoon at a makeup bar (which is exactly what it sounds like, cosmetics and booze). And Sheree dipped her toe into Atlanta's "huge gay scene" by attending a drag fashion show with her hairstylist Lawrence. But what this episode was really missing was a brawl. They established the tension between NeNe and Sheree in week one. But last week, the ladies played nice. And this week, they didn't even share any scenes. NeNe made a few snide remarks about Sheree, but there was no new drama to be had between the dueling divas. "I do think she's beautiful," Kim said about Sheree over lunch with NeNe, leaving some hard feelings between the gal pals.

"Kim's playing both sides of the fence," NeNe later complained. "I don't have time for that!" -- Chris Willard
