Newly announced Dancing with the Stars
contestant Kim Kardashian
is putting a brave face on her prospects for the show after cutting her foot on a glass coffee table Sunday night in a hotel room.
Speaking to Ryan Seacrest
on his KISS-FM radio show Monday morning, Kardashian said she had a very "rough night" but is safe and sound.
"I am OK, yeah. It was a little scary," she said. "We were in the hotel, and I cut my foot on a glass mirrored table that was broken and jagged, and I didn't see the edge. And it was like blood everywhere. We went to the hospital, and I'm OK."
The timing couldn't be much worse, with Kardashian, 27, announced Monday as a competitor
on ABC's DWTS
, which begins Sept. 22.
"I had to call my partner, Mark Ballas," she told Seacrest. "I feel so bad, I had to wake him up. I said, 'You're going to wake up and hear all these things. We're going to get through this. It's going to be OK.' "
Kardashian said she was "crying all night" after the accident, but "you know what? This is a challenge, and we'll get through it, and we're going to do whatever we can to make this heal as fast as possible."
The mishap may not do much for Kardashian's nerves going to the competition, as she described herself to Seacrest as "the most clumsy person alive." --Tim Nudd
