Big Brother Recap: From Man Hugs to Sticking It to the Competition

April's reign as HoH immediately pitted one-time allies Jessie and Memphis against one another. With two members of Team B.A. facing eviction, the alliance quickly crumbled.

Kudos to Memphis for taking his nomination for eviction with surprising aplomb. "Shocker of the century," the meddling mixologist said with a sarcastic laugh, "April nominates me." On the other side of the eviction coin, self-obsessed Jessie reverted back to his delusional ways, declaring, "I think it's an honor to be nominated three out of the four weeks."

Feeling the collective heat of the household, Memphis then turned to a willing Keesha to start a new alliance, a move that may prove to bite both the contestants in the rear. Keesha's friendliness toward Memphis left HoH April feeling betrayed--and fuming.

Meanwhile, Jessie found solace in the promises of April and Ollie. "Just please trust me," the HoH whispered to Jessie. "You're not going to go," Ollie added during the trio's bedroom hug-fest. America's Most Awkward Man Hug: Dan may have fulfilled his first duty as America's Player by making sure Jessie got put up for eviction. But it's safe to say the high school teacher just got lucky since Jessie needed no help in alienating himself from the rest of the household. Though Dan may have backed into the first segment of his AP prize, mission No. 2 would prove to be more daunting--to hug a house member for ten full seconds. That house member turned out to be none other than Jessie, who was elected by the voting public to be the lucky recipient of Dan's hug.

While Dan's initial response was shock ("Oh, no! What are you guys thinking!"), the $20,000 was too good to pass up. "If you want Dan and Jessie to hug," he said, laughing, "You're going to get Dan and Jessie to hug for an awkward 10 seconds!"

And he even outdid himself--by 7 seconds! Things got steamy--and sappy--in the sauna room. Dan concocted a sob story about his girlfriend "Monica," which drew Jessie in to comfort his pal. With Dan shedding crocodile tears, the opportunity just seemed right for a man hug. Seventeen seconds later Dan (who winked knowingly at the cameras) was feeling a lot better--and a whole lot richer. (Watch the clip.)

It's Ice, Ice, Baby: This week's PoV pitted six houseguests against one another. HoH April along with nominees Memphis and Jessie were challenged by randomly chosen Libra, Jerry and Michelle.

To win the coveted PoV, the remaining players had to use their wits and hockey sticks to slip a puck into the appropriate slot of an eight-slotted hockey net. Memphis was the first to get eliminated. But even pulling sixth place, Memphis got a going-away prize--a gold medallion that he could choose to trade with the other BB houseguests.

Michelle was more than happy to be eliminated next since her exit prize was a Hawaiian vacation for two. (Do we even need to go into the sorrow and anger that she felt when Libra later stole her prize?)

Jessie was ousted from the competition next--and this time he blamed his loss on his physique: "It's like miniature golf. I don't golf because my back's too big." After April bowed out to get the $10,000 prize money that left Libra and Jerry to duke it out for the PoV. In the end, Jerry emerged the victor.

The former marine took the PoV, then chose not to use it on either of the young eviction nominees, once again proving you can never count out the crafty veteran. --Reagan Alexander
