The Master Manipulator: The reality TV Machiavelli spent the first day sidling up to HoH Jerry, professing "loyalty to the end" to the far-too-trusting former Marine. And after gaining Jerry's trust, Brian then formed a secret alliance with Dan and Ollie, later bragging, "I exploit the trust that Jerry has in me.... I use it to my advantage."
While Brian did his best to play this season's puppet master, the chopping block duo of Jessie and Renny scrambled to garner favor among the house guests. Jessie, whom we suspect is trying to get a movie deal for his chest, went straight to HoH Jerry to plead his case, but was met with the hardline, "Big boys don't cry." House Alliances: Both faced with eviction, Renny turned to red wine for comfort, while buff-boy Jessie simply whined. As for the remaining housemates, Michelle worked her charms on Jerry, wrapping him up in her arms at every opportunity, while smug Brian attempted to wield his control by cozying up to Angie, Steven and a reluctant Memphis.
Pour Some Sugar on Them: The veto competition was a cross between Winnie the Pooh-meets- basic training, with the six chosen contestants (Jerry, Jessie, Renny, Memphis, Michelle, and April) dragging themselves through a honey moat in search of teddy bears hidden inside feathery pillows. While each participant ended up looking sweetly tarred and feathered, only a boisterous Jessie walked away with the much-needed and coveted power of veto.
Showmance Alert!: The season's budding relationship blossomed between Ollie and bikini-clad April, but their budding flirtathon was quickly put to the test when savvy Libra made the connection that Ollie, Dan and Brian had formed an alliance to oust the more threatening men--and divide the women. April and Libra's bathroom confrontation over Ollie led to the show's most surprising twist: The preacher's son turned on Brian, calling his one-time ally "a snake." Emboldened with April's backing, Ollie then went on the offensive, gathering nine members of the house to confront Jerry about his boy Brian's conniving ways.
The Veto Ceremony Shocker: Not surprisingly, Jessie used the Veto on himself. In a surprise move, HoH Jerry then put up his boy Brian for eviction after finding out Brian had possibly double-dealed him. --Reagan Alexander
