• Excited for the new season of The Hills, set to air in August? Not everyone is. While Lauren, Lo and Audrina are hard at work creating drama in L.A., Conrad's neighbors are complaining about the chaos (filming crews, fans and paparazzi) that surrounds her Hollywood home. Hey, at least they're not the Ropers!

Auditions for season 8 of American Idol kick off July 17 in San Francisco, and continue in six other cities: Louisville, Ken., East Rutherford, N.J., Salt Lake City, Utah, Kansas City, Mo., Jacksonville, Fla., and San Juan, Puerto Rico. ¿Cómo se dice 'Yo dawg' en español?

• Thursday brings the premiere of ABC's medical drama Hopkins. The six-part documentary feature follows the high-pressure lives of professionals at Baltimore's John Hopkins Hospital. Katherine Heigl is urging the doctors on the show to ask for better material.

• The Bluths may be heading to a theater near you. Jason Batemen says that a movie version of FOX's sitcom Arrested Development is on track for 2009. Mr. Banana Grabber has yet to say whether he’ll make an appearance.



Tyra Banks took time out from shooting the latest cycle of America's Next Top Model to write a message to her fans about her recent Daytime Emmy victory. The talk show host graciously includes a clip of her acceptance speech for those who want to relive her moment of glory or learn numerous ways of describing one's "ass."
