Back in January
, Renaldo Lapuz
walked into an audition room in Dallas, Texas, where American Idol
judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul
were on the hunt for contestants for season 7 of the show. Dressed in white with a silver cape and two giant mums tacked to his shoulders, Renaldo, a native of Reno, Nev., performed "an original composition" called "We're Brothers Forever," which he directed at Cowell, much to the delight of Paula, Randy and Ryan Seacrest
During Wednesday's finale, Renaldo took the stage to reprise his song in front of more than 7,000 at L.A.'s Nokia Theatre. Once again, Renaldo singing "We're Brothers Forever" -- backed up by the USC marching band -- moved judges Randy and Paula out of their seats and onto the stage where they sang along and danced with their favorite wacky contestant.
