She started off as a clear frontrunner for the title of America's Next Top Model, but when the judges started to notice Katarzyna's seemingly dull personality and sleepy photos, they changed their minds. On last night's episode, the judges sent the Long Island native home when her Renaissance-inspired photo looked more ho-hum than haute couture. In a chat with PEOPLE, Katarzyna dished about Tyra the photographer and explained why she's not a "boring girl." --Archana Ram
What did you think about the being portrayed as the boring girl?Going into a reality show, you know they're going to give everyone an edit and of course you hope you're not going to be the boring girl. I think I'm fun. I like to go out and I have friends that I like to laugh a lot with. I made friends with the girls from the show, so it sucks to be portrayed as the boring girl. You didn't get to see a lot of the girls because Whitney and Fatima took up 45 minutes out of the hour we got, which was a shame.
What was it like posing for Tyra Banks? It's so scary to shoot with Tyra just because she's a mean panel judge. She is there to tell you everything that's wrong. She's watching your every single move. It's so stressful! I feel like I did better when I worked with other photographers because I didn't think they were judging me like that. I thought they just wanted to give constructive comments. I'm sure Tyra did, too, but the fact that she's one of the judges never left my mind.
How did you respond to the judges' criticism of the photo that got you sent home?In past photographs, they told me my eyes were really good. In other shoots, they were like, "Wow, your eyes are great!" So I think in this particular picture, it was just that way, and I guess it was something that could make or break the photograph and it broke it for them. I don't think that I have an eye problem! Whitney had been in the bottom two like three times before that. They thought that she was the worst three times before, so you would think, "Okay, maybe she's the worst at a lot of things, so you should cut her." That was the first time I had ever been in the bottom two, and they chose to cut me. I thought it was very weird.
What are you up to now?I'm back on Long Island and I've been doing a little fashion public relations because I'm not interested in going back to finance at all. Since I'm off the show now, I can pursue a modeling career, so I'll see what happens with that.
Who do you think will win?Anya has been the strongest by far out of the girls that are left. I've seen her pose. I think Dominique is a good poser as well, but Anya's a natural at it.
