Much was made of Carly Smithson's look on American Idol last week, with judge Simon Cowell criticizing her for not showing a fashion progression and dressing more like a star. (The comment earned him plenty of loud boos from the audience, of course.) And although he made a rare apology on elimination night, he made a point telling her, "You look good," even if he didn't like her choice of song.
Did Simon cross the line last week when he criticized her red jeans and black top? Or was he fair in his assessment? And did she progress this week with the green stripes and gold belt? Or was it pretty much the same?
