With the writers' strike close to becoming history, producers, writers and your favorite stars may be heading back to work very soon. But most shows won't be back right away. In fact, it will take a while for stalled shows to get new episodes written, rehearsed, shot and edited. And many shows are done for the season. But by the time spring rolls around and Old Man Winter starts to release his grip on the nation, the networks will be promoting the return of Gossip Girl, Grey's Anatomy and The Office to television. The Los Angeles Times and TV Guide compiled lists of TV shows and whether or not they're likely to return and when.

NBCLikely to return with new episodes in the spring: The Office, 30 Rock, ER, Medium, My Name is Earl, Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Medium
• Likely to return next season: Heroes, Chuck
• On the fence: Friday Night Lights
• Won't likely return: Bionic Woman
• No word yet: Lipstick Jungle, Scrubs, Las Vegas
CBS• Likely to return with new episodes in the spring: Two and a Half Men, How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, NCIS, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, Without a Trace, Cold Case, Ghost Whisperer

• Won't likely return: Cane
