So You Think You Can Dance Auditions: Everything You Need to Know

Planning on auditioning for So You Think You Can Dance? Before you go, watch our video of audition tips from SYTYCD judge and choreographer Dan Karaty (he's worked with Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson and Kylie Minogue!). And in case you don't have the scoop on when and where you can try out for the solo dance competition, we've got you covered with audition information:

• Jan. 17, in Dallas, Texas, at Southern Methodist University's McFarlin Memorial Auditorium

• Jan. 31, in Charleston, S.C., at the Charleston Music Hall

• Feb. 4, in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the Capitol Theatre



• Feb. 21, in Washington D.C., at the Atlas Performing Arts Center

• March 6, in Los Angeles, Calif., at the Orpheum Theatre

• March 20, Milwaukee, Wis., at the Milwaukee Theatre

Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. at all venues! If you're traveling from out of town to attend the open calls -- and you're a good dancer -- you should plan on staying for at least two days after the initial auditions in case you get a callback.
