Could Blair Waldorf's 17th birthday party have been any worse on last night's show? Hardly. She and long-time boyfriend Nate broke up, Chuck Bass revealed he's got butterflies in his tummy over her ("No one is more surprised or ashamed than I am," Chuck said of his first experience with having feelings) and Blair found out Nate's brief and ultimately abandoned attempt to reconcile with her was only so that her mom wouldn't end her business dealings with Nate's dad.

Happy Birthday to you?!

In other Upper East Side happenings, Jenny led her 'rents towards reconciliation (however temporary it may be); Dan tried to get Serena and Vanessa to bond, which they eventually did over their shared love of Guitar Hero; and Jenny and Nate bonded during a walk while they were both avoiding Blair's birthday party. All we're saying: In the GG books, Jenny and Nate do become a couple . . . What are the chances the show will flip the script on the books? Would you rather see a three-way love triangle between Serena, Nate and Dan?–Kimberly Potts
