AddiPete: So Close, Yet Still So Far Away

Whoa! Hot kiss between Addison and Pete to open last night's Private Practice. Kate Walsh's new spouse should be a little jealous–her AddiPete smooch was steamier than the one she and her husband shared in those recent, ubiquitous photos of the couple making out at the grocery store!
Unfortunately, it was all more of a tease, because that's as far as the AddiPete action went. A woman whose husband died before she delivered their baby brought back memories for Pete of how he and his wife were trying to conceive before she died, and the trip down memory lane led to him standing up Addison for their planned romantic evening. Still, their big tease was better than what made up Sam's (Taye Diggs) day, which consisted of being tricked by a patient into going to a liquor store, where Darlene Connor, a.k.a. guest star Sara Gilbert, was holding hostage with a gun. Oh, the hostage taker was also pregnant. And her water broke just as Sam was treating the guy she accidentally shot who was her baby's daddy.
And things were not much better for Violet, who decided she and Cooper should delve into a friends-with-benefits relationship. Violet, Violet, Violet . . . And Cooper, Cooper, Cooper, for thinking you could go through with it, when you're so obviously in love with your friend.
But the big surprise of the night: The two who recently uncoupled–Sam and Naomi–are the ones who ended up having hot sex on a conference room table. Reconciliation, party of two?
So, overall, lots of drama, but several lighter moments, too. What made you laugh the hardest:• The mom of three boys who, upon delivering another one, told Dell: "You shove that boy back up there and pull out a girl"? • Cooper's "I'm getting la-a-a-a-a-aid" song? • Addison's declaration that she was "on fuego" over Pete and the hot cop (who was played by yummy Gilmore Girls dad David Sutcliffe)? • Or Dell catching Addison and Pete making out at work, then promising to lock their secret away in the "Dell vault"? – Kimberly Potts
