TV Roundup: Seacrest In for New Year’s Rockin’ Eve

Ryan Seacrest will co-host Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, and is expected to succeed Clark as host of the show. Then, the format will change: Based on its performance, America will decide what whether to keep the old year or vote it off the show via an 866 number or text message.

• NBC has begun its casting search for the new reality show, My Dad Is Better Than Your Dad, which pits father-and-child teams against one another in stunt-driven challenges. The winner will get $50,000, and the loser will get beat up at school.



Michael Symon, the winner of Food Network's Next Iron Chef, will return to the CIA for a special demonstration. Um, yeah, that's the Culinary Institute of America, not the Central Intelligence Agency.
