Normally this time of year, two-time Dancing with the Stars champ Cheryl Burke is practicing for hours each day. Not this season: She and partner Wayne Newton were voted off the show two weeks ago.

There is a bright side–the unexpected free time is allowing Burke to throw parties, spend time with boyfriend Matthew Lawrence (season two's Joey Lawrence's younger brother) and even do long overdue laundry.

"This is my second hobby, partying," Burke told us at a bash she hosted with Social Couture on Monday night. "So why not throw a party for the I love."

Burke listed a few other activities which normally lose out to her intense dance schedule that she's finally getting to: "I am actually still unpacking my suitcases from the Dancing with the Stars tour,” she says. “So there’s that. There are clothes still on the floor that I haven’t had time to hang up in my closet. But I am slowly getting back to normal.”

“My top five things I’m doing now that I am no longer practicing every day: I am doing laundry, catching up on bills, returning phone calls and emails, giving my boyfriend (Matthew Lawrence) the time he needs to be with me.”

And the number one thing? “Showering every day! Just kidding,” Burke jokes.

“Let’s see. My car’s about to break down, so I need to take it to a Lexus dealership soon.”

As for the competition, though she misses it this year, Burke has a healthy outlook. "You know what, it's my turn to go," Burke says. "And even now, I always end up dancing with Matt in the kitchen.” –Bryan Alexander
