•The producers of Desperate Housewives have issued an apology for offending Filipino health care workers in last Sunday's season premiere episode, where Susan (Teri Hatcher) goes to a doctor and says she wants to "check those diplomas because I want to make sure they're not from some med school in the Philippines." When asked for comment, Seinfeld's Michael Richards said he thought the joke was funny.

• Speaking of Jerry Seinfeld, he will guest star on tonight's second season premiere of 30 Rock. What's the deal with guest stars anyway? Are they guests? Are they stars? Dirty Sexy Money's Billy Baldwin organized an auction for the Carol Baldwin (his mom) Cancer Fund that includes a bunch of cool TV-related items, like walk-on roles in 30 Rock and his new series, lunch with the Sopranos cast, or being a roadie for Miley Cyrus...the last one sounds suspiciously like work!

David Spade's Hollywood-skewering news program, The Showbiz Show , has not been renewed. Probably to make room for a cartoon about a pooping monkey.
