Desperate Housewives: New Kids on the Block

Does Edie survive her season finale suicide attempt on Desperate Housewives? We'll find out on Sunday night's fourth season premiere (ABC, 9 p.m. ET), which will introduce two new couples to Wisteria Lane and a new season-long mystery.
Actually, the mystery ties in with one of those new families, Katherine Mayfair (Dana Delaney), her gynecologist (and much younger) hubby Adam (Nathan Fillion) and her daughter Dylan (Lyndsy Fonseca). Katherine, a woman so uptight that she makes Bree seem laidback, lived in the 'hood years earlier, and her daughter was friends with Julie. And while Julie remembers her old pal well, Dylan can't recall her time on Wisteria Lane at all, which is a part of the big secret Katherine's keeping… PS–Delaney was originally offered the role of Bree, and when she turned it down, her pal Marcia Cross asked if she minded if she auditioned. The real-life friends will be bitter rivals on the series, and it's sparked by a lemon meringue pie recipe!
Elsewhere, Kevin Rahm (Judging Amy) and Tuc Watkins (One Life to Live and All My Children) join the cast as gay couple Bob and Lee, who butt heads with Susan over a large water fountain sculpture they put in their front yard; Carlos and Gabby continue to rekindle their love (forcing a creative hiding place when Victor nearly catches them; and fiercely independent Lynette reluctantly has to accept help as she battles her cancer. –Kimberly Potts
