British alt-rocker Florence Welch, 24, is up for Video of the Year for "Dog Days Are Over" at the MTV VMAs on Sept. 12.

ON "DOG DAYS" BEING USED IN THE EAT PRAY LOVE TRAILER

It was quite serendipitous. I was in Miami playing a show, and someone had just left a copy of the book in the cab I was in, so I started reading it. It was kind of a sign or something. I really like the book, but I haven't seen the film. But I figure that Julia Roberts and I are now friends!

ON HER FEMALE-ROCKER IDOL

Courtney Love. I had her poster on my wall growing up, the one with her in the pink wings.

ON HER ALL-TIME FAVORITE VIDEO

Bjork's "It's Oh So Quiet," directed by Spike Jonze. I love the mix of reality and then everyone just bursts into song-the whole world becomes a musical.

ON HER BEST VMA MEMORY

When Britney Spears did "I'm a Slave 4 U" [in 2001]. It was incredible. I'm still a huge Britney fan. Go Britney!
